Work with Strangers
The mapping project is about sharing memories, drawing people together, so I left a QR code in a park where I associate a specific memory of cutting my ankle with a bike and the QR code links to this video - of my ankle being sewn up.

The brief for this this short project was to throw a homemade dart at a map of where you live - so that you have a random location - and then use one of the randomly generated project titles as prompts for what you’d make there, and then document what you did afterwards.
My ‘dart’ landed by the river in Glasgow, and my random title was “water”.

Your Words My Hands
For this project, we had to use the same partners as portraits in a landscape - but this time we sent each other a brief that we had to complete. Mine was to stare at myself in the mirror for an hour.
I expected and others talked about it having some deep realisation or maybe seeing something new - but I didn’t experience any of that - instead it was kind of bored for an hour and was just pulling faces so in the end result I do look slightly like I’m going crazy.
At the time I was just zoning out on my face - doing staring contests and holding my breath for as long as possible - but what I realised after is that I continually changed my appearance thought out the hour. I changed my hair, took my jumper off, pulled at my skin - I couldn’t keep looking the same way.
I continued to mess about with what I had and playing with my hair and expressions to amuse myself, however I think I could’ve got closer to some kind of ‘realisation’ or epiphany if I did nothing, just stared at my reflection. If I were to do this piece again, this is what I would try.
