ALL OR NOTHING pt3: COLLABORATION 11/02/2020

The ‘All or Nothing’ project then became a collaborative piece with Alice Whitaker. Both our ideas revolved around themes of destruction, even though Alice’s were based off the theme of ‘all’, and mine was of ‘nothing’. Alice’s work showed themes of abandonment and was breaking and rebuilding her grandmother’s china, and mine was creating work that was destroyed and becomes nothing, both working in video. So we decided to collect abandoned china, and make a video breaking it in an abandoned location, then editing it all to music by Philip Glass. We then took stills from this video and made it into a book that we would leave on the site or in other abandoned locations as part of Urban Explorers. This video looks into themes of abandonment and destruction.
